dc.description.abstract |
The main purpose of the study was to determine the extent of adoption of BRRl dhan
40 by the farmers of Noakhali district and to explore the relationship between the
selected characteristics of
farmers and their adoption of BRRI dhan 40. The study
was conducted in three villages of Dharmapur Union tinder Sadar tJpazila of
Noakhali District. A list of 279 13RRI dhan 40 growers was prepared with the help of
respective SAAO and Agricultural Extension Officer of the Lipazila and out of a list
of 279 farmers 84 Qtrmers were selected at random. Data were collected during I"
June to
30111
June, 2013. Pearson's correlation co-efficient was used to explore the
relationship between the selected characteristics of the airmers and their adoption of
BRRI dhan 40. Findings showed that highest proportion (58.33 percent) of the
farmers categorized into medium adoption category while 20.24 percent into low
adoption category and 21.43 percent in high adoption category. Out of nine
independent variables. farmers education. rice cultivation knowledge and
innovativeness had significant positive relationship with their adoption of I3RRI
dhan 40. On the other hand age. farm size, animal income. extension contact.
organizational participation and training exposure of the Ilirmers had no relationship
with their adoption of I3RRI dhan 40. |
