dc.description.abstract |
An cxperiment was carried out at Sher-c-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. Bangladesh during the
period from July to November 2014 to study the performance of four transplanted aman rice varieties
(BRRI dhan56. BRRI dhan57. Binadhnn-? & BRRJ dlwn49) under three different soil moisture levels>
(100% field capacity moisture content or control, 70% of the control moisture and -l0% of the control
moisture). 111e experiment was carried out in a polythcnc shed controlling the intrusion of rainfall. 111C
results indicated that leaf area. specific leaf area and relative water content were found to be the highest at
100~o Fe conduron and the lowest at 40% FC condition: but the reduction was comparauvely lower III
BRRJ dhun56 and BRRI dban-l9. 0 leaf rolling was recorded ill 100·0 field capacity moisture level and
the highest leaf wiling was recorded at -l00 0 field capacity moisture level. 70°'0 field capacity moisture did
not give an) remarkable effect on BRRI dhan56 and BRRI dhan49. 111CS!: varieties could be cultivated In
drought-prone areas of Bangladesh providing 70% field capacity moisture. |
