Abstract:
The present study was undertaken with the aim to investigate the “Influence of
vermicompost on growth and yield of kohlrabi cultivars”. This study was
conducted at the Horticulture farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University,
Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from October 2018 to January 2019. The
experiment consisted of two factors: Factor A: three kinds of cultivar (V
1
= Quick
star, V
2
= White vienna, V
3
= Early 005), Factor B: Four levels of vermicompost
(M
0
= Control, M
1
=
6 t/ha, M
2
ii
=
8 t/ha, M
3
=
10 t/ha). The experiment was
performed with Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications.
The results indicate that the morphological parameters and the reproductive
components, as well as yield were influenced significantly among the treatments.
With applying vermicompost (M
3
) maximum yield per hectare was found (13.12
t/ha) in White vienna (V
2
) and minimum (7.00 t/ha) in Early 005 (V
3
). In case of
interaction effect maximum yield per hectare (16.29 t/ha) was obtained from
V
2
M
3
, while minimum (6.48 t/ha) was obtained from the V
3
M
0
. So, it can be
concluded that applying M
3
=
10 t/ha vermicompost among three cultivars white
Vienna gave the highest yield.
