dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during rabi (November, 2017 to March, 2018) to study growth and seed yield of onion as influenced by GA 3 and plant spacing .The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A: Gibberellic acid management (4 levels) G 0 = Control (0 ppm) G 1 =80 ppm, G 2 = 100 ppm, G 3 = 120 ppm, and factor B: Spacing (3 levels) S 1 : 30 cm ×10 cm, S 2 : 30 cm × 20 cm were delineated in Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The Taherpuri variety was used in this experiment as the test crop. There were 12 treatment combinations. Result showed that GA 3 : 30 cm ×15 cm, S 3 , plant spacing and their combination showed significant variation among the treatments on growth and yield parameters. In case of GA 3 1 (560.63 kg) was obtained from G 2 the highest seed weight ha (100 ppm) where the lowest results on respected parameters were found from G 0 (Control) treatment. Regarding, plant spacing the highest seed yield ha -1 (439.98 kg) was attained from the treatment of S 2 (30 cm ×15 cm) where the lowest results on respected parameter was achieved from the S 1 (30 cm ×10 cm) treatment. In terms of combined effect of GA 3 and plant spacing, the highest number of seeds plant -1 (3.37 g), highest seed yield plot -1 (108.08 g) and highest seeds ha -1 (750.54 kg) were found from the treatment combination of G 2 S 2 where the lowest results were obtained from the treatment combination of G 0 S 1 per plant and G 0 for per plot and per hectare. Among the treatment combination G 2 S 2 (100 ppm with 30 cm×15 cm) seemed to be more suitable for getting higher seed yield in onion. S 3 en_US
