Abstract:
The experiment was conducted at the Horticultural farm of Sher-e-Bangla
Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, during the period from
October 2017 to February 2018. The experiment consisted of two factors.
Factor A: Three levels of phosphorus i.e. P
0
: Control, P
1
: 60 and P
2
ha
-1
, respectively and Factor B: Four levels of GA
3
i.e. G
0
: 0ppm, G
1
: 60ppm,
G
2
: 110 ppm and G
3
: 160ppm GA
3
, respectively. The experiment was laid out
in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. In the case of
Phosphorus, the highest number of flowers (304,333 ha
-1
) were recorded from
P
2
and the lowest number of flowers (252,833 ha
_1
: 110 P
2
) were recorded from P
0
. In
the case of GA
3
, the highest number of flowers (353,111 ha
_1
) were noted from
G
2
and the lowest (256, 222 ha
-1
) were recorded from G
0
. For combined effect
the highest number of flowers (406,667 ha
_1
) were noted from P
1
and the
lowest (207,333 ha
_1
) were recorded from P
0
G
0
. So, it may be concluded that
60 kg P
2
O
5
ha
_1
with 110 ppm GA3 ha
_1
was found suitable for growth and
flowering of Cockscomb.
