An experiment was conducted at Horticulture farm in Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural
University, Bangladesh to evaluate the floral behavior of rose cultivars during the
period from October 2012 to March 2013. Field experiment included forty four
rose cultivars V
1
to V
. Rose cultivars varied significantly with different
characteristics on growth, floral behavior and petal coloration. Among 44
cultivars 17 red , 9 pink to pinkish, 6 yellow to yellowish, 3 orange, 2 white to
whitish, 2 violet, 2 creamy white, 1 magenta and 1 black colored flower producing
cultivars were found respectively. A single cultivar was wild type. Cultivars V

were found best as cut flowers those
contained solitary flower in a single stalk and petal arrangements were compact
and the rests were suitable as pot or bedding flower. |
