An experiment was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University,
Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from October, 2017 to April, 2018 to
evaluate the effect of foliar application of fertimix on growth and yield of
tomato varieties. Six tomato varieties and four levels of foliar application had
been used in this experiment. Tomato varieties were BARI Tomato-14 (V
BARI Tomato-2 (V
2
), Roma-VF (V
3
), Apple Netherland (V
ii
4
), Sweden 5 (V
),
TM 0.2 (V
) and level of foliar applications were; Control (No foliar
application, T
6
0
), Spraying once (T
1
)
,
Spraying twice (T
), Spraying three times
(T
3
2
). The experiment was outlined in Randomized Complete Block Design
with three replications. Significant variation was found with the treatments.
Among varieties maximum cluster number (8.67/plant), flower number
(90.83/plant), fruit number (43.53/plant), fruit yield (98.62 t/ha) was found
from V
6
and minimum fruit yield (64.07 t/ha) was found from V
. Spraying
three times (T
) gave superior results for all parameters than other foliar
applications. Highest fruit yield (101.10 t/ha) was found from combination
V
6
T
3
3
and lowest yield (61.07 t/ha) was found from combination V
. It can be
concluded that, spraying three times on TM 0.2 variety provided best result for
growth and yield of tomato. |
