Abstract:
Two factorial Randomized Complete Block Design experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Farm
of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-I 207, during the period from November 2006 to
March 2007 to study the effect of different levels of potassium viz: no potassium (KII), 120 kg K,Olha
(K ,), 130 kg K10lha (K1) and 140 kg K10 Iha (K.1)on the growth and yield of lenuce. The experiment
was conducted with seven replications. Application of different doses of potassium showed significant
differences among yield and different yield contributing characters. The highest plant height (21.08 em),
number of leaves (26.4 I), leaf length (23.29 ern), leaf breadth (22.04 em), fresh weight of plant (325.82
g), dry matter content (12.32%) and yield (27.14 t/ha) were recorded from 130 kg K,Olha (K,) and
control treatment gave the lowest results
