dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted at the farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka1207, during the period from July to December. 2013 to find out the effect of combined application of different organic and inorganic nitrogenous fertilizers on the growth, yield and nutrient content of two aman rice cultivarswhere the two factorial experiment was laid out in a RCBD design with three replications, factor A two varieties [Vi-Binasail, V2-BRR! dhan46], and factor 13: different combinations of organic and inorganic nitrogenous fertilizer doses [To = Control (No nitrogen), T,= PM(pouttry manure)25%+ IF(inorganic fertilizer as urea)75%, T2 = PM50%+1F50%, T3 = PM75% + lF25%,T4= MOC(mustard Oil Cake)25%+ lF75%, 15 = M0050,',± 1F50%, T6 = M0C75%+lF25%, 17= 1F100%. The results indicated that most of the growth and yield parameters varied significantly due to varietal difThrcnces. BRRI dhan46 produced the highest 1000 grain weight, greatest grain yield and heaviest straw yield among the two varieties. The N, P and K content in grain did not vary significantly between the varieties. Diflèrent combinations of organic and inorganic N fertilizers affected significantly the various growth, yield attributes and nutrient content of rice grain. Combination of 50% poultry manure and 50% urea produced the highest number of titled grains panicle' as well as the highest 1000 grain weight, grain yield and straw yield. The highest N, P and K content in grain were also observed from50% poultry manure and 50% urea trcatment. The significantly higher 1000 grain weight, grain yield and straw yield were round from the interaction of I3RRI dhan46 and combination of 50% poultry manure and 50% urea. The highest N, P and K content in grain were also observed from the interaction of BRR!dhan46 and combination of 50% poultry manure and 50% urea. Therefore, the results concluded that 50% N as poultry manure and 50% N as urea is helpful to increase the yield as well as to deplete the use of inorganic nitrogen fertilizer in aman season. en_US
